Annual Sports Competition is an yearly event of GIM to promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and to encourage healthy competition. Generally YMA playground of Berhampore is booked for this event. The field is decorated with colourful flags and festoons. Initial selection of participants takes place on the first day of this two-day event while the final competitions are scheduled on the second day. Students of all courses take part in this sports event. The entire programme is arranged by the students under the guidance of the faculty members. There are various events like spoon and marble race, 100 metre and 200 metre race, tug of war, shot put, relay race, sack race, pot breaking and cricket. Our Chairman Sri Pankaj Chowdhury and the faculty members take the responsibility of judgement. Students securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions are awarded with a trophy and a certificate. The programme creates huge spontaneous participation of faculty, staff and the students.
